Where the Money Goes

"I can affirm that 100% of the contributions received by Reba Place Church for "India Missions" goes directly to Matilda Education Society.  I cannot supply an audited statement of Reba Place Church as we do not normally do an audit.   We have a very experienced CPA giving oversight to the church accounts.   If you wish, I can provide a detailed accounting for recent years of all receipts and disbursements for MES." --David Janzen (email address: dhjanzen@juno.com)

"As Treasurer for Taipei International Church (TIC), I can affirm that 100% of the contributions received for India Missions goes directly to Matilda Education Society.  Per TIC policy, we do periodic audits and can provide a detailed accounting for recent years of all receipts and disbursements for MES. TIC sent teams to India in 1999, 2000, and 2001.  The lay people on those teams paid for their own expenses.  The TIC Pastoral staff expenses were separately funded out of our general funds and was not in any amount funded by India Missions donations. Please contact me if you have any questions, or would like to know how you can direct your donations to this work in India."--David Heidel (email address: david_heidel@mentor.com)

"Charleswood Mennonite Church has been the channel for Canadian donations to Matilda Education Society for at least five years. The church has approved a line in its budget for MES, which qualifies all designated donations to this program for income tax deductibility. During the four fiscal years from 1997 to 2000, Charleswood church received CDN$22,950 in donations for MES. This full amount was forwarded to MES in India. The average amount of giving per year has been $5,727, and this figure has been growing each year. During the first six months of the current fiscal year, the church received $3,414 in donations. If donors would like to have some additional information about Charleswood's involvement in the handling of these funds, they may write to Milton Friesen, the treasurer, at Charleswood Mennonite Church, 699 Haney Street, Winnipeg, MB, Canada R3R 0Y7, or email him at mfriesen@whpcn.net. The church council appoints an auditor annually to examine the accounts kept by the treasurer and to report to the congregation's annual meeting.   Charleswood Mennonite Church has been involved in helping to support MES  Ministries because Das and Doris were members of this church when they attended Canadian Mennonite Bible College two decades ago. People from the congregation and a growing number of other supporters from across Canada have been using this channel because of our church treasurer's expertise in making the transfers to the MES account in India."--Larry Kehler (email address: 74650.2012@compuserve.com)
